Jio Rs 399 plan launched for Prime users, will offer unlimited data for 3 months
Reliance Jio on Tuesday launched a new plan for its Prime members. The company has rolled out a Rs 399 recharge that comes with 84 days validity and offers unlimited data to the Prime users.
But wait, there's a catch. Since Jio is synonymous to 4G so you may be expecting it to offer unlimited 4G data at Rs 399 but this is not the case. The offers will get you 4G data but with a daily FUP limit of 1GB only. Once the limit is exhausted for the day, the internet sped will reduce to 128kbps. This means you get 84GB 4G data for 84 days.
The company has revamped all its plans above Rs 309. The earlier launched Rs 309 plan will provide 2 months of 56GB 4G data with 1GB 4G data limit per day and post that the speed will go down to 128kbps.
The new set of plan benefits are already effective and will be applicable for all new as well as existing subscribers. Jio is offering 1GB data per day at 4G speed followed by unlimited at 128 kbps, unlimited local, STD and national roaming voice calls and unlimited national SMS under these plans.
Apart from these Prime exclusive plans, Jio has also launched new Every Day More Value (EDMV) plans. The company claims that these plans provide 20 per cent more value than competitors' best plans. The two EDMV plans cost Rs 349 and Rs 399.
Jio users who recharge their number with Rs 349 will get unlimited voice call, SMS and 10 GB+10GB. This means that user get 10GB for first 28 days and 10GB for the next 28 days. To explain it better, say a user exhausts the 10GB 4G data in just 15 days. In this case, the internet will continue to work for the next 13 days but at a reduced speed of 128kbps.
Jio is gearing up to make some important announcements at its upcoming AGM scheduled on July 21. There are reports that the company may launch a Rs 500 4G VoLTE feature phone along with coupe of new tariff plans.
